Näyttelyn teosten aiheena ovat Tšetšenian sodat sekä sotaa ja vainoa paenneet tšetšeenit. Osa heistä pakeni Suomeen. Mitä heille kuuluu nyt?
Teemu Mäki on työskennellyt Tšetšenia-aiheen parissa vuodesta 2008. Tällä hetkellä aihe on ajankohtainen myös Ukrainan sodan vuoksi, sillä Mäen mukaan Putinin Venäjä yrittää siellä samaa kuin aiemmin Tšetšeniassa.
Teemu Mäki (s.1967, Kuvataiteen tohtori) on Kalliossa, Helsingissä asuva kirjailija, kuvataiteilija, ohjaaja (teatteri / elokuva / ooppera) ja tutkija. Näyttely Kulttuurikeskus Caisassa, huhtikuussa 2023, on hänen kuudeskymmenes yksityisnäyttelynsä.
Esillä on uusia teoksia ja niiden rinnalla myös kaksi jo aiemmin esitettyä teosta, jotka Mäki teki suomalaisten ja kansainvälisten opiskelijoittensa kanssa 2011–2013.

Some of the works in the exhibition deal with wars in Chechnya, while others focus on the Chechens, who escaped the wars and persecution. Some of them ended up in Finland. How are they doing now?
In this show, Teemu Mäki exhibits works related to Chechnya. He has worked on the theme since 2008. At the moment the theme is also relevant, because — according to Mäki — Putinist Russia is now trying to do to Ukraine what it earlier did to Chechnya.
Teemu Mäki (b.1967, Doctor of Fine Arts) is a visual artist, writer, director (of theatre, film and opera) and researcher living in Kallio, Helsinki.
The exhibition in Cultural Centre Caisa in April 2023 is his 60th solo exhibition.
In the show there will be new works, but also two older ones, already exhibited, which Mäki made with his Finnish and international students in 2011–2013.
