The ‘Children of Immigrants’ is a series of podcast based discussions hosted by writer and journalist Tania Nathan.

The guests in this series are BIPOC persons that live and work in Finland, at the intersections of art, activism, decolonisation, social media, music, fashion, capitalism, neo-colonialism, climate justice and more featuring the music that has inspired them.

The discussions take place live and are multilingual.

This episode features Samir Bhowmik a Helsinki-based multi-disciplinary artist. He received a Doctor of Arts (2016) (Art & Design) from Aalto University, Finland, and a Master of Architecture (2003) from the University of Maryland, United States. Samir’s artistic research project “Black Ecologies: Performing Art in the Extraction Zone”, at the Academy of Fine Arts (Uniarts Helsinki) explores extractivism & ecology through film, installation and performance.
